ANELISA CALMET

Hi! I'm Anelisa. An abstract artist from Lima, Peru.

Through vibrant colors and vivid textures, my art evokes emotions like passion and joy. I begin each painting freely - often with just a few lines, shapes and colors. My intuition guides the whole process and allows my work to evolve organically. I create art because I enjoy the spontaneous and intuitive process of seeing my work transform and evolve. Using bright colors and varying textures is how I represent feelings of energy, joy, calm and serenity. I strive to make each of my paintings unique, full of energy, and ultimately meaningful.

Most of my work showcases fluid acrylics, ink and oil sticks. Drips, pours, mark-making and scribbles are made freely, celebrating the beauty of unpredictability.

My inspiration and vibrant color palette comes from my South American upbringing and multi-cultural background. I draw from my unique experience living in 6 different countries, including my home country of Peru and my current home in the suburbs of New York City. All this is reflected in the use of colors, splashes, and movement symbolizing warm weather, sunny days, and happy people.
